What Documents Are Required to Rent a Car at WAHDAH Japan?

To rent a vehicle with WAHDAH Japan, all registered drivers must provide valid documents for identity and driving eligibility verification.

Required Documents :

Driver Identification Driving Documents
Japanese Residents / Licence Holders Valid identification document Valid Japanese Driving Licence
Foreign Visitors Valid Passport Valid Driving Licence + International Driving Permit (IDP), where applicable

Important Notes

  • All documents must be valid and not expired at the time of rental.
  • The name and details on your driving documents should match the information provided in your booking.
  • Foreign visitors must provide the appropriate driving documents required to legally drive in Japan.
  • Where an International Driving Permit (IDP) is required, it must be presented together with your original driving license.
  • All registered additional drivers must also provide the required documents.
  • Documents must be uploaded online before pickup for verification.
  • Please bring the original documents with you when collecting the vehicle.

WAHDAH reserves the right to refuse vehicle handover if the required documents are incomplete, invalid, expired, or do not meet the applicable requirements for driving in Japan.
