Do I Need to Register an Additional Driver?

Yes. If you plan to share driving responsibilities with another person during your rental period, all additional drivers must be registered and verified with WAHDAH before driving the vehicle.

Registering additional drivers is particularly recommended for long-distance journeys to ensure a safer and more comfortable driving experience.

Additional Driver Requirements

  • Registration: All additional drivers must be registered under the booking before vehicle pickup.
  • Cost: An additional fee of ¥1,000 per driver applies.
  • Documentation: Each additional driver must submit a valid passport or identification document, driving license, and International Driving Permit (IDP), where applicable.
  • Eligibility: Additional drivers must meet WAHDAH's age, driving experience, and license requirements for renting a vehicle in Japan.
  • Verification: All required documents must be uploaded and successfully verified before the additional driver is permitted to drive.

Important Notes

  • Only registered and approved drivers are permitted to operate the rental vehicle.
  • Allowing an unregistered or unauthorized person to drive may result in insurance coverage restrictions or rejection of claims in the event of an accident or damage.
  • Additional drivers must comply with the same rental terms and conditions as the primary driver.
